C1 – Training Sessions for Mentors and Educators
This activity focused on training 12 mentors and educators (three participants from each partner organisation including the host organisation) on two main subjects:
a) Sessions on how to engage, work and teach/train young students with IDDs in Higher Education Contexts which will provide a overall awareness of social, pedagogical, methodological and technological competencies that educators must attain to properly engage and train students with special needs;
b) Sessions focused on specific learning modules that mentors and educators must acknowledge in order to provide an adapted and flexible training programme for students with IDDs.
These actions supported a innovative teaching assessment for several types of educators (mentors, teachers, trainers, tutors and coaches) which will be based on informal learning processes and dealing with the major issues that learners from disadvantaged backgrounds may suffer.
